Geoff joined McVeagh Fleming as a law graduate in 1977 and was made partner in 1981. As from January 2014, Geoff became a consultant. Geoff has a particular interest in the area of trust law, including asset planning and protection.
He represents and acts as legal adviser to a number of individual clients in relation to their family and business assets and their family trusts. Geoff has extensive expertise in advising on all aspects of commercial and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring and financing, joint ventures, contract preparation, franchising and general business advice. He acts as personal adviser to the directors and shareholders of a variety of New Zealand companies and businesses.
Geoff is a keen sportsman and acts for a number of athletes and sportspeople. He has run the New York Marathon and participated in the Coast to Coast. His activities now focus more on tennis and golf. He is a past winner of the Devils Own, a golf tournament involving New Zealand lawyers and judges, held annually since 1932 in Palmerston North.
